JAMES MAYOR

Hello! I’m James Mayor, writer and journalist. I write about wine, sustainability, travel, and humanitarian, cultural and political subjects. We all know the headlines - I’m interested in the back story: the people and what they do that’s game changing…

A talented winemaker is like a great artist, creating in a fertile space between agriculture and artistic invention. This makes for fascinating conversations!

my story

My interest in wine began with an internship in my early twenties at a Premier Cru estate in Bordeaux. This led to writing about wine and the extraordinary people involved in its production.

Today I live in Porto, the gateway to one of the world’s greatest and most beautiful wine regions, the Douro.
